She and Jim Backus, no matter what, did work well together as evidenced in episodes that can also be found at:

Subject: ah Joan !!!!
For years much had written about the "love" between I Love Lucy's Vivian Vance and William Frawley, well the lack thereof..well HATE might be a better word here.

But little is said about the hatred between Joan Davis and Jim Backus. Those two really didn't like each other at all. Of course its hard to see the "hate" here.

I can remember when the old CBN Cable Newtork aired this show back in the early to mid 80s. I Married Joan was actually one of their more popular shows. Of course a whole new audience disocered Joan Davis and Beverly Wills.

Imagine how surprised many folks learned that both Davis and Wills had already been dead for years.

BTW...The woman who played Mabel..Geraldine Carr. Sadly not long after she did this episode ( September 2, 1954 ) she was killed in a California car accident.

Joan has mall rat bangs that would look right at home on Molly Ringwald in the 1980's.

I agree with Lum below about the song. It will get inside your head and make you wish you could forget.

I enjoy these shows tremendously. Too bad there are not more of these. I took a star off because I cant get the theme song out of my head.
